OUR STORY

Señor Manuel Veloz and his wife Feliz originated it; where they expressed their expertise in Mexican delicacies every day for 16 years.  It was preserved through their son, George A. Veloz and his wife Gloria.  The name today is Jorge's in Midland and Odessa; it was under management by their yerno Michael Gutierrez and their daughter, Diana.  The tradition of the "Tex-Mex" was carried over to Amarillo and creatively combined with Mexican favorites to create Tacos Garcia, which was under care of George A. Veloz II and his wife Misty.  In 1994, the ownership of this humble establishment was turned over to Arturo Mariscal and his wife Magaly.  Yet they are of no blood relation to the Veloz family but have known and appreciated the delicious, well known recipes of the Veloz family and honor them in their menu still today.  They are still at this at this establishment, still cooking the great foods generously bestowed to them by the Veloz family. So please sit back and relax, "mi casa es su casa" as the saying goes and prepare yourself to be tantalized by eh recipes we have all enjoyed and loved for many years and many more years to come.
